“II am Wendy Hannan and I am a proud advocate for CQShines Hospital Foundation. I am honoured to share my story with you, a story that highlights the importance of the vital work being done to enhance healthcare services in our community.
Recently, my son Mitch underwent a routine tonsillectomy that resulted in unexpected complications, leading us on a challenging journey that tested our strength and resilience. From travelling to Bundaberg for the surgery to facing a medical emergency upon our return, we experienced first-hand the urgent need for enhanced support and resources at our local medical facilities.
This experience has inspired me to raise funds for the acquisition of highly advanced surgical telehealth equipment for the operating theatres at Gladstone Hospital. By implementing telehealth technology, we can ensure that our local medical professionals have access to real-time support and guidance from experienced specialists, ultimately improving patient outcomes and preventing others from enduring the fear and helplessness that we faced.
